Seems the past month has been an entire month of celebrating Tim. I suppose it should happen that way once in a while when you’re four. Most importantly today is Tim’s baptism birthday! Happy Baptism Birthday to God’s own Tim!
Since June 14…in pictures…
Tim got a new stuffed friend. It’s a duck-billed platypus which he named Sunshine, in honor of Uncle Brent’s childhood imaginary friend.

Tim went to Funshine Summer Camp. Tara went to Summer Enrichment classes at St. John which were at least equally as fun, but there weren’t any parent participation times, so no pics. At Tim’s Summer camp, each year there is a parade on Wednesday. The kids all decorate the vehicle of their choice and make a parade. Tim was very proud.

And then it was his birthday.
Presents:

A picnic at the park:

Then it was the Fourth of July. But I don’t have any pictures of that. I have no idea why.
And then we spent an afternoon at Branched Oak Lake. Tim caught a summer cold in the meantime. When we got to the lake I quite quickly realized I had forgotten to give him another dose of ibuprofen…as evidenced by his incessant whining…but I did have ibp tablets in my purse, so I convinced him to take one. Which he chewed (blech.). And we speculated it might have some hallucinogenic power, because he then saw this:

And gasped and said, “Look! A baby dinosaur!”
Tim has been squarely centered in a “Mommy-only” phase. Only Mommy can do anything for him or with him or to him. Only. Mommy. And while he’s really dang cute and resisting him is very difficult, it’s also quite exhausting. And Harold is plain sick of it.
Just last week Harold was trying to get Tim’s shoes on and Tim jerked his feet back and said, “No. Mommy do it.” It proceeded like this:
Harold: Why does Mommy have to do it?
Tim: Because I like her best.
H: Why do you like her best?
T: Because she’s my favorite.
H: Why is she your favorite?
T: Because when I was borned I came out and looked this way (turning head) and saw her first. That’s why she’s my favorite.
H: How do you know you saw her first?
T: Because I was THERE (in an exasperated tone). And when Tara was borned she looked that way (turning head) and saw you first, and that’s why you’re her favorite. That’s why.
This is a recipe commonly used by Pampered Chef people during kitchen shows. I like it. Sometimes I prefer it without meat, which makes it a veggie pizza, more or less, and it’s just as yummy.
Clubhouse Chicken Pizza
2 rolls refrigerated crescent rolls
8 oz. cream cheese (softened)
2 Tbsp mayonnaise
1 small clove of garlic (or 1 tsp. crushed garlic like I use)
1 Tbsp All-Purpose Dill Mix (this is a PC product, but any dill mix will do)
1 can chunk white chicken, drained (or use one left-over grilled chicken breast, diced)
1 small cucumber diced
Diced fresh tomatoes (however many you like)
1 package real bacon bits (or 6 slices of bacon cooked and crumbled)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Get a big sheet pan. PC recommends their big stonewear bar pan. I don’t care for stonewear, so I used my big rectangle cookie sheet/sheet-cake pan.
Roll crescent rolls out flat and pinch at seams to form crust. Prick with a fork and bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes (until golden).

Mix cream cheese, garlic , mayo and dill mix.

Spread evenly on cooled crust.

Sprinkle with chicken and bacon.

Then with veggies.

And cheese.

Cut and serve.

Yummy.
Rachel graduated from Lincoln Lutheran on Sunday, May 22. Again, never mind that it’s June.
Here it is in (some blurry) pictures:

Rachel is on her way to Concordia University in Seward next year to be a teacher, and play basketball.
Happy Graduation Rachel!
(And watch in the next few days for a new recipe!
