Last year in Kindergarten, a couple students from Concordia University did a unit on China with Tara’s class.
The thing that has stuck with her most is that when we get up in the morning, China People are going to bed. And when we go to bed at night, China People are getting up. She is clearly fascinated by this difference in time. And she always refers to people living in China as “China People”.
In first grade this year they were working to grasp some concepts of time, and activity outside of their own ego-centric-world, and this is the picture Tara drew:

Way to go Tara!
I wouldn’t mind being in China right now, in a nice comfy bed, snoozing away with a 4 blade fan twirling above me. Ahh yes, the China people have it made.
It would be cool if there were some class called “First Grade for Adults”. They could tell you cool bits of information, then have you draw a picture or write a couple sentences about it to help you retain the info. One lesson could be all about car engines, and the next could be about accounting. Then grocery shopping, then congress, then something about China People.
I mean, sure I could look all that up myself. But what if someone just prepared a bunch of information and all I had to do was show up and take it in? I think I’d pay for something like that.
That is a genius idea. Get right on that.
Fabulous pictures! Although, that sleeping child isn’t beheaded, right?
