Happy Mother’s Day!

It’s been a Mother’s Day extravaganza around here.  On Monday I got my big MD present…it’s a new patio umbrella.  But it’s been very windy, rainy and cold here since Tuesday, so I don’t have a picture of it. Trust me.  It’s very cool.  It even tilts.

On Tuesday, Tara and I went to the Mother’s Day Banquet at St. John.  It was well done this year.  We had nice table mates, and the food was quite spectacular.  Pecan Crusted Chicken.  Yum.

On Thursday, Tara and I went to the Mother’s Day Tea party her preschool does each year.

Tara's in the yellow. But really the best part of the picture is Jaci, in the pink flowers. HA!

Holding her shadow picture. She wears that headband everyday...so her shadow has a forehead growth. Heh.

On Friday, Mom gave us a picture of her next to my MD gift to her.  I planted daffodil bulbs last Fall, and they were all blooming.  I thought they would hold on until the actual Mother’s Day, but no.  However, they were good for a full month of pretty color before withering.

They're her favorite flower.

Yesterday evening, Tara could not stand the suspense any longer.  She Had. To. Give. Me. Her. Card.

It's the first time she's written my whole name by herself. Awww...

She picked it out because it's pink.

She added leaves to the tree, the sun (with sparkles) and drew pictures of me and her. She's the pink one, because pink is her favorite. I'm the green one, because green is my favorite. :)

Happy Mother’s Day!!

A lovelier pair there never was! (You should wear your hair like that more often.) Well done, Tara.

Happy Mother’s Day!!!

Wow, what a great Mother’s Day week you’ve had! Way to go!

I LOVE that card! I sure do miss that kind of stuff…(except for the time when Matt was in kindergarten & they had to draw something they were afraid of and all the children drew things like spiders, the dark…not Matt…he drew a lovely picture of his mom yelling at him, complete with pointy eyebrows…which hung in the hall for all to see for a month.)

I remember doing that shadow paper thing in elementary school. I thought it was the coolest thing I’d ever done.

Really? I remember doing it in 2nd grade & hated it…because, really, don’t they look like giant alien heads when done that way. I never understood this activity.

HA! I thought they looked really weird, too. And because I’m a bad Mom, I *gasp* threw Tara’s away! She looked like a mutant.
