Happy Half-Birthday to me…

I was at Dollar General yesterday.  I don’t go there often, and I’m not quite sure why.  It’s probably the stereotypical perception of the stores, but really, I always find good deals on things and often find surprising things.  Yesterday was no exception.

One of my favorite candy bars ever is a pecan log.  As kids we sold them for school fund raising.  And I would often get them on car trips when we stopped at Stuckey’s Truck Stops.   And then as an adult I would occasionally see them at WalMart around Christmas.  But really for all practical purposes they are nearly extinct.  And I love them.  So that makes me sad.

Until yesterday at Dollar General.

About three glorious little bites worth.

Full of nouget. Mmmm...it's like the brought them in just for my half-birthday.

Haha! Did you get my text yesterday? I saw a pecan log roll in Cracker Barrell! Of course I got one and ate the whole thing.

Haha! I seem to start all my comments with “Haha!”

I’m glad you like them, and good for Dollar General for having surprises!

What kind of nougat are we talking about? Like 3 Musketeers or is it more like marshmallow cream?

    Happy 1/2 birthday Beth!

I’ve only ever seen this item at Easter time…The Pecan Egg. I LOVE them too….but only the middle….it’s the best! I cut mine in 1/2 & eat the middle out…sort of like other people eat a grapefruit. I’m drooling now….thank.

Where is there a Cracker Barrell around here?

It’s not like 3 Musketeers…it’s more marshmallowy but not as gooey.
