Sleighing.

We went sledding today with our friends the Meehls.  Seth and Ben are twin brothers that are in Tara’s class in preschool and Sunday School, and Tara tells me she’ll be marrying Seth someday.  So, clearly they’re friends.

It was Tim’s first big sledding experience.  He calls it “sleighing”.  Because that’s what Santa rides the snow on.  And, dang that’s cute.

Tara is an old pro at sledding. She even ventured down the hill in all three available sleds.  And only wiped out once.

The innertube style. Her clear favorite.

The big one. It was good for two people, but tippy for one kid. Thus the one wipe out.

The green one. With Ben.

Tim went down the hill with me mostly.  But did dare to go down once with Seth.  They wiped out.  But it was one of those giggling wipe outs, so all was well.

Seth and Tim's wipe out. They were looking at each other and giggling.

Getting ready to launch. With Seth and Mrs. Meehl.

What a fantastic morning!  Thanks Meehls!!

That looks like an awesome sledding hill. And the trees are awesome. When I hear about sledding, I think of Dad throwing sparks when he went across some bare pavement at the bottom of a hill.

Excellent!! When I was a kid we lived right across the street from a hill and I loved sledding there. Until I got a little older & boys starting ‘high jacking’ you. That terrified me!!!

    …started

I hereby give my legal consent to Beth Pester, L&L Sommerer & Brad Royuk to correct all my stupid mistakes. I guess it’s time for reading glasses. Sigh

Sledding is the ultimate kids’ winter fun. We used to make a whole day of it up on Grand Mesa, and though I’m sure there was lots of whining on my part, I only remember the delicious hot chocolate at the car when it was over. Mmmmmm…..

so fun! We don’t have enough snow any more to “sleigh.” sigh. I wonder if we’ll get more this season.
