Happy Half-birthday my sweet girl.

Around here we celebrate half birthdays.  I always have.  Because my birthday is the end of August and back when I was in grade school and it was all the rage to take treats for your birthday, we didn’t start school until after Labor Day.  So I didn’t get to take treats…until I discovered my half birthday.

And then Brent and Sandra got married on Brad’s half birthday.

And then Daniel was born on Sandra’s half birthday, and baptized on my half birthday.

And then, well, you get the idea.  Half birthdays became big celebrations.

Today, October 7, is Tara’s half birthday.  My beautiful, sweet little red-haired girl.

Her first ear of harvested corn. She was very proud.

Helping her little brother learn how to use her Leapster. She very protective when other people may harm him. But at home, sometimes she hates him with a fierce passion. Heh.

I think in 10 years that she'll probably still look like this from behind...

Happy half birthday, Tara.  Mommy loves you.

She is a beautiful girl… like her momma!

    Happy 1/2 Birthday Tara!!

When my kids were little, I used to have ‘Today’s Your Special Day!’ day. Only once a year…but they didn’t know when it was coming…I just picked any day, made some sort of dessert & got them something really small. They liked it….but I think it warped them, what with me jumping in their room early on any unsuspecting day screaming ‘SURPRISE!’
