First. Photo. Funny.
It was a day of interesting happenings around here.
The first tiger lily of 2009 opened it’s pretty face. I love these tiger lilies. They are what Brad always calls “heirloom” lilies, because they originated at my Grandpa Hummel’s farm, and I have moved them several times to different houses, but they still THRIVE. In fact to say they thrive is probably an understatement. They often top six feet tall, and I have to tie them back so Harold doesn’t mow over them. Plus, they propagate on their own. So they spread. I love that. If you want some bulbules (seeds) let me know. I can send you some. For real.

Then, the Seward County Independent newspaper arrived today. It had the special 4th of July section. And looky here:

Finally. Tara was doing a little time on the back rug. That’s her time out spot. And I told her she could get up. She didn’t right away, but I didn’t think anything of it. Until I had been in the living room for a while and realized I hadn’t seen her yet. So, I went to check on her. This is what I found:

Heh. Funny.
Ah yes… spontaneous sleep. She must be related to me.
And the first lily! I saw it yesterday an almost said something to you. Actually, what I almost said was: “You should post about this!” but I didn’t want to sound like a crazy gardening guy.
Great minds think alike - you two have some great minds
That flower is beautiful! How very special that it’s been with you at each house!!
And nice picture of the family in the paper! Awesome!
But I say, How about a nice time out space for moms…like a nice comfy bed with lots of pillows…some nice music playing… a nice cool drink…and a hot masseuse!
Dang it, Peggy - you took my comment. I was about to say that I could use a time out rug myself.
Great minds think alike.
There’s a picture of Anna that I have to post - Tara reminded me of it. I put Anna in bed for her nap and when I went to check on her later, I couldn’t find her. Anywhere. I finally looked under the bed. Found her! Sleeping soundly. She was under there for about 2 hours.
Beth! I’ll take a bulbule (or whatever you called it) whenever it’s convenient…but did you REALLY mean you’d share them even with people who live in Wisconsin? Russ’ grandpa also grew these “tiger” lilies and he LOVED them! It would amuse him no end to have some in our yard.
YES! I completely meant it! I have HUNDREDS of them and I’m happy to send a handful. Or more.
