Sunrise.

There are lots of things I miss about living in Tennessee.  I miss the trees.  And the hills and mountains.  I miss the flowers.  And the sweet drawl of its citizens.

But I do love Nebraska.  Even as a child, I would marvel at the amazing night sky full of stars.  And the way you could see for miles and miles with virtually no obstructions.  A very different beauty than Tennessee.  But beautiful still.

Perhaps the most breath-taking scenes happen at the break of dawn and at dusk here in the great plains.

This was the view of the sky from our back door this morning as I stepped out for my morning constitutional:

 *gasp*

And just a moment later. See the difference?

And a second shot a bit to the north.

And in the moment it took for me to take my camera in and put it on the counter, it was gone.  You just don’t see that so clearly from your back door in Tennessee.

God does good work.

(Yay!) I am dedicted sky watcher too. I LOVE LOVE LOVE sunrises & sunsets. And you are so right about how the sky can change in just a few seconds…the intensity of color is breathtaking if caught at the right moment. In Bel Air I have seen some of the most beautiful shades of hot pink ever! Indeed God is a great artist!!!

I am guessing that you started walking around 5:45? That’s when I noticed the BRIGHT red light in our kitchen. Very cool photos!!!

“Red sky in the morning, sailors take warning.” Did you have bad weather yesterday?

Arron saw these pictures and thought Seward had suddenly grown an active volcano! That color is amazing!
