Tara’s last day of her first year of school…

Yesterday.  Tara’s last day of her first year of preschool.  And finally she let me take a picture of her by the Funshine sign.  She wouldn’t let me do that on her first day.  She was more or less terrified to go, and now she’s sad to be done for the summer.  Just as it should be. :D

Riding her bike to school for a special treat on the last day.

By the sign for her preschool. Funshine.

With her teacher Mrs. Hoger, and her friend Eva, and her sneak little brother Tim who managed to get into the pic.

And finally, a story she composed about her favorite stuffed pet.  It was “Bring your favotire stuffed pet” day a few school days ago, and her teacher had each student dictate a story about theirs.  (Interestingly, her favorite stuffed pet is a pair of kitties, not the little black dog she’s holding in the picture with the sign.  That’s the dog that shared her birthday, and she brought her for Show and Share.)

Those are clearly some hungry and ferocious cats!

It’s the end of a little era -
    School’s done for little Tara.
So long teacher, grass and tent -
We’ll be back when summer’s spent.
‘Good-bye’ to friends and dress-up hats,
    Home to crazed horse-eating cats.

That picture is adorable! She looks like a little business woman on her way to work. Goodbye 1st year of school!

Speaking of school & the end of 1st’s, I’m leaving now to go get my son from West Point.
His plebe year is officially over…Woo Hoo! And the upperclassmen have recognized them as people instead of larva…which is a big deal I’m told.

We used to like to eat horses, too. Every time we had a Krystal hamburger. Was it Dad who always said they were made of horse meat? Hehe…
