Caramel Frappaccino.

I love Starbucks Caramel Frappaccino.  The ones that come in the little bottles, in a four pack that you can buy at your local grocer.  Love.  I haven’t ever ordered one from a Starbucks cafe.  I don’t go places like that.  The couple times I have gone, the workers have been snotty - talking to me like I was an idiot, like I obviously didn’t belong there.  Perhaps they sense that I really hate coffee.  Because I do.  Unless it tastes like dessert.  And Caramel Frappaccino tastes like dessert.

But they are crazy expensive in those little four packs.  And they’re crazy fattening, what with their liquid death whole milk, and million calories and all.  So I have refrained from buying them for a while.  Because I’ve been feeling sort of squishy…but that’s for another post.

However, I have been really craving a caramel frappaccino for a while…and then it occurred to me…MAKE ONE!!!

Caramel Frappaccino (That’s a cold, frothy, milk and coffee drink, if you, too, aren’t cool enough to go to Starbucks.)

1 1/2 cups milk

1/2 Tbsp instant coffee granules

A healthy squeeze of caramel ice cream topping (I count to five while I’m squeezing.)

1 Tbsp sweetner (I use Splenda.  And I probably use more than a tablespoon, but I didn’t want anyone to gasp at the thought of so much sweetner.  I believe I did mention that I only like coffee if it tastes like dessert, so quit gasping.)

 Ingredients.

Shake it all up in a shaker.  Or just stir it really well until all the instant coffee is dissolved.  (You may prefer to add ice.  I don’t really like ice.  At all.  But, you might.)  Perfect.  And a gazillion fewer calories than the little four pack bottles.

Even beter than snotty Starbucks can make.

Yum.  Lipstick optional.

Excellent!!! So I’m wondering if you could please come up with one of your wonderful homemade recipes for … well, everything & anything chocolate…especially cake & donuts with all the flavor, but none of the calories or snot!

Next time you’re in Starbucks, just order what Niles Crane always had: “a double shot, low fat, no foam latte”.

On second thought, that would be pretty strong on the coffee flavor and not at all sweet. Don’t order it.
