Christmas time.

I love Christmas.  L.O.V.E.  I spent Friday morning shopping with Deborah and having a grand time collecting great deals, and when I got home, I got the tree decorated (I did the outside, too, but I didn’t take a picture yet.  I like to take that picture right at dusk when the lights come on…and I forgot.)

Per Peggy’s request, I’m posting pictures of our tree.  I had a little helper…  Dang he’s cute.

I love that star. And the ribbon garland is the ribbon that made the pew bows in our wedding. Mushy, I know.

He giggled when the ornaments danced.

And made them dance. A lot.

Here are some close ups of the ornaments.  They are hand-blown glass, with some coloring and etched in gold, from Egypt.  Harold’s Aunt and Uncle used to live there (by way of the Air Force), and one year she sent us each a couple for Christmas…I asked for a whole set.  I love them.  You can’t really see in the pictures, but they are clear, light green, light red and an iridescent purpley-blue.  Two different shapes, round or kind of teardrop shaped.  And there are a few that are darkly colored stripey.  Just look at the pictures.  Oh, and you should know, I grew up with a theme tree.  I don’t do electic ornaments, and no I don’t feel cheated that my Mom never hung my awful styrofoam/noodle/yarn ornaments on the tree.  When you grow up with a theme tree, they are always the most beautiful…and if my kids hate it, they can decorate their own.  When they’re in college.

 Teardrop. Reddish.

Reddish/round in the middle. But around them you can see other colors, and shapes. Including one of the stripey ones in the right bottom corner. It's teardrop shaped. And a bit hidden by the branches.

 A little closer.

And the best close-up of all.

And on Saturday morning, we woke up to this:

It didn't snow much. But Tara still loved it.

Must be Christmas time. :D

Gorgeous! It almost makes me want to get out our tree….almost. I’ll content myself with baking some cookies and looking at your tree on my computer.

Wow, your tree is beautiful. I agree on themed trees. They make the whole thing seem magical.

Yea! Christmas trees! That’s the best part of Christmas. While I have to say that themed trees are pretty (and yours is beautiful, BTW), I love my eclectic collection of ornaments. Every one of them has a story that means a lot to us. :) B

BEAUTIFUL, ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!! Those balls are amazing!! I’m going to print out a bunch of the “best close up” picture & hang them on my tree.

And I love your elf helper…the back of his head looks sooo cute in the glow of the soft white light. The one where he’s reaching up is frameable!!!

Great, now I’ll look like a copycat when I post about my tree (whenever I get it up). On the other hand, maybe it’ll take me so long to get my tree up everyone will forget your post by then.
