Christmas time.
Sunday, November 30th, 2008I love Christmas. L.O.V.E. I spent Friday morning shopping with Deborah and having a grand time collecting great deals, and when I got home, I got the tree decorated (I did the outside, too, but I didn’t take a picture yet. I like to take that picture right at dusk when the lights come on…and I forgot.)
Per Peggy’s request, I’m posting pictures of our tree. I had a little helper… Dang he’s cute.

Here are some close ups of the ornaments. They are hand-blown glass, with some coloring and etched in gold, from Egypt. Harold’s Aunt and Uncle used to live there (by way of the Air Force), and one year she sent us each a couple for Christmas…I asked for a whole set. I love them. You can’t really see in the pictures, but they are clear, light green, light red and an iridescent purpley-blue. Two different shapes, round or kind of teardrop shaped. And there are a few that are darkly colored stripey. Just look at the pictures. Oh, and you should know, I grew up with a theme tree. I don’t do electic ornaments, and no I don’t feel cheated that my Mom never hung my awful styrofoam/noodle/yarn ornaments on the tree. When you grow up with a theme tree, they are always the most beautiful…and if my kids hate it, they can decorate their own. When they’re in college.

And on Saturday morning, we woke up to this:

Must be Christmas time.
