Tara’s preschool snack.

Tara was the snack girl at preschool today.  She was very excited, and selected something very delicious.  Apple slices and caramel dip.  Delicious, but sticky…and a little hard to prepare for ten 3-year olds.  But here’s what I came up with:

Apparently it was a big hit.

Individual dip cups.  And while it’s not pictured, I sliced the apples.

Not bad for a middle school teacher, huh?

Well done! They look like caramel shots. Mmmm….caramel shots….

  2. Brad says:

That would make an excellent dinner some night. I must do that some time soon. Mmm… caramel shots…

  3. Peggy says:

Excellent idea Beth! I LOVE apples… well, when accompanied with caramel that is, especially warm caramel. Sooo good …

(hey, isn’t caramel one of those words that people say all differently, like peacan–peecuhn–peekin? I think I say “care-mel”, 2 syllables, I tend to leave out the other a–or am I just saying it fast & blurring it together–I don’t know? How about you? Care-a-mel? Car-mel?)

  4. Peggy says:

    hehehe

How did Nebraskians become the shot experts of the world anyway?

  5. Karla says:

Because there’s nothing else to do in Nebraska!

  6. Lauren says:

Car-mel. I also think that it’s weird that there’s an extra ‘a’ in there.

  7. Beth says:

I’m with Lauren. Only I don’t really say -mel. More like -mul.
Car-mul. (Actually the proper pronunciation would be an upside down e. A schwa. But I can’t make the e flip over, so I had to settle for a u.)

  8. Kristi says:

Have you tried pudding shots? Yum-yum.

  9. Deanne says:

    Two syllables. Car-ml.

  10. Deanne says:

What alcohol do you put in them? or do you just slurp up yummy pudding?

  11. Jill says:

I think substituting Bailey’s or Kahlua for some of the milk would be GOOOOOOOD.
