Tara’s first day of preschool was this past Tuesday.  It was also my first day of classes, and then my birthday happened this week…and so…I’m finally getting around to posting about her first day now.

I really wanted a picture of her next to the sign “Funshine Preschool”, but Tara wasn’t interested.  She was more interested in watching her friend Eva get in her van and leave. 

And then when I tried to get Tara to go, she wasn’t so interested in leaving…so she bolted.

I was ok with her not wanting to leave.  Just a week earlier, she had decided (and if you know Tara, she decideds rather vehemently) in no uncertain terms that she was NOT going to preschool.  We visited by ourselves one afternoon and then went to the open house, and all was well.  On her very first day, just as she was getting ready to go, a lady bug (who she named Sarah) landed on her thumb…and rode all the way to preschool and obediently climed in the bug jar for her.  It was the perfect first day thing for Tara.  And now, she LOVES it!
