Well, it was worth it in the end. All the trouble gone through for these pictures. Whew!
We tried to get pictures three times previous to this, with no luck. Tim gets very nervous around people who appear to have a giant black camera for a face, and then start flashing like lightning in his eyes. He FREAKS OUT! So after the third failed attempt, we (Brad was with me) took Tara and Tim to the mall playground to get some wigglies out and eat lunch.
On a whim I suggested to Brad that maybe we should go to Sears or Penneys Studio to see if they take walk-ins. I didn’t want to let Tim’s first year escape without formal documentation. Unfortunately, by this time, Tim’s picture clothes were covered in pizza and fishy crackers. *sigh* So again, on a whim I ran into Gymboree, and wouldn’t you know it, the very same outfit on the clearance rack for CHEAP! I bought him a new one, it was a good omen.
We got to Sears, and at first Kim (the photog) was hesitant because she only had 40 minutes and she likes to give people at least an hour. I told her I just needed one good shot, and it may not even happen given Tim’s camera fear. Would she just try? White background, no props, one shot. Please? Yes. It took a while to get Tim calmed down, and then we had to coax him into the camera’s view. Kim had to put it on the tri-pod, and hold the remote button in her hand. Every time she stepped behind the camera itself Tim freaked. After 20 minutes. And some comedy acting behind the camera from Uncle Brad and Tara. Snap. Snap. Snap. Snap. Done. And more money than I wanted to spend (Sears is a bit more expensive than the other place, but SO worth it this time!). Here’s the well worth it result:

Cuter than cute!!! Yay Tim!! How about one of the back of his head? Then he wouldn’t see the scary camera faced monster. And a close up of his precious feet too?
