I love garage sales. I think there are two types of people who really love them – people with little kids and old crazy people (my apologies if you fit in the latter category and I have offended you).
Saturday morning I had a glorious garage sale-ing day. Glorious. I was up early, the kids and Harold were still sleeping. I sneaked away with a little cash and happened upon an indredible garage sale that was unadvertised. That’s the key – unadvertised. The advertised ones almost always have a mob of old crazy people and young, sleep deprived moms, and I’m not ruthless enough to score big. But when I happen upon an unadvertised one… Glorious.
Tim got a new outside house thing – $3. (It’s on a sheet because he doesn’t care for the pokey grass.)

Tara got a new coupe – $7.

Not to mention the purple plastic dress-up shoes, the two pairs of shorts, the two flashcard games, the little swing for her babies and a new Maisy book. And Tim got a great new basketball tub toy, a pair of shoes and a ride on bike (that he’ll actually get for his first birthday). All in all, $18. Glorious.
New outside house thingy … $3.
New coupe … $7.
Hours of endless fun … priceless!
Seriously – those are great deals!
And what a nice shady yard to play in! Your kids are so lucky.
I don’t like pokey grass either! I always wondered about why people liked to walk barefoot on grass. It’s itchy! And don’t even get me started about lying down in grass. I’m getting itchy thinking about it.
I love the Cozy Coupe … I think because it reminds me of a cartoon car.
Yay for your Day of Deals!
Susana is a big, big garage sale fan. Last summer we got this beautiful teapot, a pretty tray, some clothing, a box full of greeting cards, 6 packages of paper doilies, and much, much more. I guess we fit in the crazy category… but hey.
