Bad idea.

There are a number of reasons that I think it’s a bad idea when cereals change their colors:  The flavor changes, I’m nostalgic, the texture changes, it’s not the cool marketing gimick that the company thinks it is…but the worst?

Applejacks, no matter how soggy, should NOT leave stains on my carpet.  Especially green stains.  Bad idea, Applejacks, bad idea.

 Green stain.

Real Applejacks would never have caused this. Never.

Could you pass it off as ‘green flecks in the frrrrr….” (I forget what kind of carpet that is. Frisee? Freesia? Wait, that’s a flower.)

Any way you slice it - bummer.

What? Those little apricot ohs left a green stain? What’s up with that?

Comment by Beth on May 13, 2008 at 9:35 pm

Oh no…not the real colored ones…it’s the green ones that have inflitrated the box. The ridiculous marketing gimmick by Applejacks that added GREEN ones! If they were all still the original color, this never would have happened.
*sigh*

Nice, so not only have the Apple Jacks people added carpet staining ohs, they are also encouraging youngsters to eat green apples. What kind of stains will that leave on your carpet? *jibblie

I think green apples have no artificial colors that stain carpets green. Just the skin, of course, whose colors (I believe) are firmly embedded in the solid part and wouldn’t stain unless you ground it finely with some oil in a mortar & pestle.

In short, I agree with Beth. SHAME on apple jacks for adding those NASTY, GREEN Ohs!

Nope. I’m thinking green apples as in not ripe apples, that give you the runs… What about those stains?

I can’t get past the fact that your carpet looks like fried rice!

I HATE reformulations. I said that to the Carnation lady. I can’t believe that green Applejack left a stain. You’d think they would make stainless cereal for the sake of good relations with moms.

What are their marketing people thinking? They should consult with us before making any decision. Somebody tell them.

I did. I reported it. I took screen shots for proof, and I’ll post them later tonight or tomorrow.

This is an outrage! Do I have to start getting my food stores generic brand now, Apple Dapples? They’re all peach colored.

Imagine the stains thru our systems … wait, that could be cool.

I can’t see the stains. All I see is carpet with a couple of apple jacks. If it wasn’t for all of these comments, I would have thought you had made your own color blindness test.

My husband is color blind too. Don’t feel too bad.

So’s my brother-in-law. We like to tell him that his shirt doesn’t match his pants. Hehehe
