First trip to the ER…
Yesterday was eventful. That’s an understatement, but I’m known to exaggerate, and I’m trying to restrain myself.
Tara had her first trip to the ER for an injury accident. She got her right hand ring finger pinched in the hinge side of the bathroom door. The end result was a really nasty looking finger, complete with a nail that was ripped off from the side closest to her hand (it was still attached, just barely, at the tip, but if you pushed on the end of her nail, it looked like the back part of her nail was talking…kinda weird), and a broken (in a few places) tiny distal (that means tip) finger bone.
She was a total trooper! The first thing they did was put novacaine gel on her finger (God bles them!), then we had to get some x-rays, and then the doctor cleaned it up before he put a splint on and wrapped it up nicely. She has to wear the splint for three weeks. And thank goodness for Grandpa - he came along and helped do all the paperwork so I could stay with Tara…and Tim slept through the entire event. Amazing!
What a day!
The funniest thing…she hasn’t really picked a dominant hand. Perhaps this will push her to being a lefty…hmmm…

owie owie owie owie owie owie owie owie!!!!!!!!!!!
Poor Tara!! Feel better soon!!
(and next time dont’ close your fingers in the door if Tim is getting all the attention, just come to Baltimore instead!)
To the Parents: The 1st trip to the ER is frazzling, isn’t it?!?!
That’s funny Peggy - especially since Tim looks TOTALLY neglected in that last picture! “Help! Somebody save me! I’m stuck in the corner of the sofa!”
That gives me the jibblies just reading about it.
That second shot is a good one. She should be a model for one of those children’s relief organizations. “Little Tara has hurt her finger. For the price of a cup of coffee, you can help her.”
Bless her little heart…
And mommy’s, because it’s scary!!
Yes, that first trip to the ER is a big bummer!
I’m stuck on the cotortionist pose in the first picture. How’d she do THAT?
whoops…contortionist…forgot the ‘n’.
I can’t believe she’s smiling with that big ol’ finger. I hope she is feeling better now.
So, how’s the injured person?? All better??
Hi Beth, Tim, Tara, Harold! How about a 4 month update on Tim on Nov. 3rd?
Yes, pleeeeeese!
And an update on the injured!
Halloween pictures!!!
What sweet children…..enjoy….the time goes too fast. Wish we were closer, so that I could play and cuddle with them more!! Mine are getting soooooo big!!
