Tim’s Room.

In the event that I deliver as soon as apparently my doctor thinks I might…I thought I should post the pictures of Tim’s room.

I had an appointment today.  It went well.  I’ve been released to normal activity again (YAY!), and my cervix is still holding strong, though Dr. Stevens was a bit surprised (as was I) with the number of contractions I’m apparently having.  I guess I’ve become accustomed to them enough that I barely even notice when they’re happening.  To make sure Tim is doing fine they hooked me up tobaby monitors today, including a contraction monitor…and I guess I’m “contracting all over the place”.  That’s a direct quote from Doc Stevens.  Crazy.  Maybe I really will have a June baby…we’ll see…

Anyway, here’s Tim’s room.  The blue is awesome, and I decided to use frogs as a decoration.  When I was teaching middle school, I started a collection of frogs based on the acronym, Fully Rely On God (FROG).  I still have a ton of frogs, and they make for a great accent against the blue, as well as a very cool Christian reference.

F.R.O.G.

The crib isn’t all set up like it will eventually be.  Tara still likes to nap in the crib, so we’ve left it in it’s low position and kept the bumpers out.  That will eventually change…eventually…

Tara still likes the crib...for napping anyway. It's a lot more fun to jump on because she can hold on and get some real height in her jumps.

And notice the very cool frog pictures that fit perfectly in the IKEA frames.  Excellent.Frogs!

It looks really good. I like the wood furniture with the blue walls. Outstanding, Old Bean!
(just getting my English gardener lingo up and running before all the Nebraska gardening begins)

Two parents paint a room all blue
for their wee baby who was due,
sometime mid-july,
but on God we rely -
This baby is coming in June!

Terrible meter, but it’s early.

Did you know that frogs can jump 20 times their length … fleas can jump 150 times their length … and elephants can’t jump at all …

Great, super looking room! It looks so cozy! Any day now … Woo Hoo!

I like the pictures that spell ‘frog’. I would do something like that at our house if Lauren would give me some wall space. I’ve completely filled up the space behind the door in the guest bedroom that she lets me decorate now.

Maybe you need a magnetic wall in your home with BIG magnetic letters. Then all of your friends could come and spell out BIG messages to you. Like this.. WAKE UP, LLOYD!

Oooo…good idea, Kristi. The Sommerers could paint their entire entryway in magnetic wall paint and cover it with magnetic letters…very cool.

It would be like the teachers stall in the girls bathroom at school. We have magnetic letters all over the door and stall wall. We leave messages for each other like “Four more days!” or “Royuk is hot!” We also make crossword puzzles stemming from a central thought, like “Brad’s Birthday” or “Nashville Trip” to name a few. We also just like to talk smack - ha!

That makes me want to cover our downstairs bathroom walls with metal sheeting so everyone can leave messages! How cheap do you think I can get a big piece of metal sheeting for?

I’m sure they’ve done something like this on Trading Spaces. It sounds like something Hildi (sp?) would do.
I imagine you could buy a wide roll of flashing and put it up like wallpaper, only with Gorilla Glue instead of wallpaper paste! Tara would have a blast with a metal wall and magnetic letters. Heck, magnets of ALL kinds!
