New polish.

I love doing my nails.  (Here is where I would do a link to previous posts about my nails if it didn’t take so much time.)  I’ve been doing my nails regularly since I was 9, and I have lots of opinions and tips on getting them just right.

For the past several years I have been using Maybelline.  It’s been a good polish.  But something has changed recently and I have been getting terrible bubbles in my polish.  I don’t know if they changed the formula or what, but I certainly haven’t been able to find the answer (and trust me, I’ve tried), and so it was time for a change.  I’ve switched to OPI.  OPI is a more expensive salon brand, but I do love it.  And having a new color has been really nice as well.  So, out with the old:

Base coat and top coat in one. Old.

And in with the new!!

Separate base and top coats, beautiful color. New.

I hope the High Priestess at Mary Kay doesn’t read your blog … I’m pretty sure not using Mary Kay nail polish warrants them to use you as a sacrifice on their alter.

Boy - that’s the truth..fortunately for me, MK no longer carries any nail products in their regular line. Whew!

Is the name brand Opi? Like Opium??? I know why you like this polish!

Maybe it was developed by Opie Taylor from Mayberry. Maybe he changed the spelling of his name to Opi to be more marketable in the world of high fashion.

Beth, I never knew about your nailpolish fetish, but it’s a good one. I have to pay good money to get my nails painted!
