Soap Art.

Bath & Body Works had a sale over the weekend.  It was a pretty good one, 5 soaps for $10, and as I am quite fond of their hand soaps, I stocked up (I also like to keep a few on hand for little gifts – little gifts should be consumables).

Tara found them delightful.  So pretty, and when the sun shined through them they sparkled.  I had them all set out on the bathroom counter waiting to be stored and found this:

Tara’s Soap Art.  Pretty cool, huh?

I love it!!!! I hope you don’t mind if I steal this idea … now I won’t have to worry about having half dead, pitiful looking plants that scream “what did we do to deserve this” sitting on my sills! Thanks Tara!

15211?? That’s the zip code of the Mt. Washington neighborhood in Pittsburgh!

The neighborhood’s namesake is none other than George Washington, who was dispatched by British brothers-in-arms to survey the area—and ward off a French invasion. Atop Mount Washington, he observed that the wedge of land sitting at the confluence of three rivers – now Point State Park -would make an ideal location for a fort. The subsequent struggle to control this land and the surrounding Allegheny Mountains was the crux of the French and Indian War (or Seven Years’ War) from 1755-1763.

Could Tara be telling us that George Washington left a clue in Mt. Washington about the location of an immense stash of French gold given to him by Marie Antoinette? We must go there at once! Bring the soap!

So…the 8th graders are gone now and you have a little time on your hands?

  4. Lauren says:

You don’t have enough 8th graders around to fill your time, do you?

That is so weird!!! I did not see your comment when I posted mine, and the times are way off! This website must be haunted. (By your brother’s dead rabbit, I bet.)
