The sun’s rays shine on us…

Wednesday, May 16th, 2007

Isn’t this a great picture?  Actually the picture doesn’t do it justice.  I was driving home from Lincoln last week and took this picture.  There were these very cool sun rays bursting through the bottom of this storm cloud and shining right on Seward straight ahead of me.

I really do love small town life, and I really do love Seward.  It’s a great place to live.  I like that everyone seems to know everyone, and that we don’t have a mall with big department stores, but Lincoln is just down the road.  I even like that if you want a nice dinner out, we only have one place to pick from.  I like that our kids will be able to walk to school, and the six blocks between here and there have a home that’s familiar (occupied by friends/church members) nearly every other house.  I like that we can walk to the grocery store, or the bank, or Hallmark, or the post office.  I like that every once in a while when we get a freak thunderstorm, a friend who was out walking will stop in and ask for a towel while they wait out the storm.  And, I like that we live in a house that will be referred to as “The Einspahr’s” for as long as we live here, and it won’t be “The Pester’s” until we’re gone and someone else has moved in…it’s good to live in a small town.

Shine on!
