Today was a most productive day for the Pesters. Harold and Tara went to Grandpa and Grandma Pester’s house to deliver a stove, pick up some railroad ties and let Tara play with Grandma for a while. It also gave me the opportunity to grade papers. I have 70 to grade, and successfully completed 57 of them today while Tara and her Daddy were gone…
Tara’s day was one of frolicking and fun…and most importantly picking dandelions with Grandma Pester. Thankfully it feels a bit more like Spring here again – YAY!

Yay for a flower even I can grow!!! Dandelions are flowers you know … they make beautiful bouquets for grandmothers and mothers. Or if you’re driving down Belair Road & see several old women picking dandelions & putting them into blue plastic grocery bags, that would be my mother-in-law and friends. No they’re not weeding … they’re getting salad fixins. Very European you know to put dandelions in salad! (yes, we pretend not to know them)
I understand you can also make them into wine! We’d better keep an eye on Tara….
Uh-oh. Could this be the beginning of an unhealthy gardening obsession, like her Uncle Brad?
Keep your hands in the dirt, Tara. Feel the juice of the dandelions on your fingers. Your journey toward the Dark Side is nearly complete.
