Tara’s new coat…for next winter.

I’ve been searching for a new winter coat for Tara for several weeks.  I’m a clearance shopper.  Also a garage sale shopper, but no one in their right mind has garage sales in February in Nebraska, and I didn’t want to take the chance on missing a good clearance coat.

Here’s what I found.  I like it, suede-ish, with sherpa-like lining by OshKosh.  Pink (that’s the most important thing, I’m a pink girl, and I’m making Tara into one).  Also, it does not have elastic at the bottom.  I don’t like elastic at the bottom of kids’ coats.  It always bunches up and the bottom of their coat ends up around their ribcage making for cold tummies.  Not to mention it looks dumb and I’m vain like that.  Anyway, Tara’s new coat for winter 07-08:

Just right.

You shop for winter coats like you shop for Christmas presents. I’ll bet you already have someone’s present for next Christmas, don’t you?

  2. Beth says:

    Indeed, I do.

  3. Michele (Brad's friend) says:

Way to go early Christmas shopper! I’m impressed.
    BY THE WAY:
Happy Half Birthday Beth! (Brad told me.) I think everyone should celebrate both their regular birthday AND their half birthday. That way we can buy for TWO seasons – a bathing suit in July and a shiny new sled in January! (Those are my two birthday months!)

  4. Peggy says:

Christmas trees … Christmas presents … oy ve …

Happy 1/2!!! You should have bought yourself a coat to celebrate … or at least a purse!

  5. Beth says:

I’m with you all the way! I always celebrate my half birthday, and when I was teaching full-time, my students even brought me gifts. It was wonderful!

  6. Beth says:

I do love purses…perhaps I’ll go into Lincoln and go shopping later…ahhhhh, new purses…
Just the thought makes me smile 8)!

  7. Lauren says:

Why stop at half? Why not quarter? Extend the gift-receiving season throughout the year!
