State Wrestling (part 2).

Ethan got 5th.  He had a tough match in the consolation semifinals which he lost.  that sent him to the match for fifth, and in the end, his season concludes with a win, and a state medal – that’s really very cool.

Ryan wrestled for the championship.  It was televised in Nebraska, so I took a bunch of pictures of the TV screen.  It’s really pretty clever.  They split the screen four ways so all four classes can be seen during each weight class.  As the matches end, they take those particular scenes off…Ryan’s match went the longest, so the last period was a full screen shot.  Harold got a bunch of air time (that means he’s famous in Nebraska).  And, Ryan was up 6-5 with 10 seconds left in the match and the other kid got a lateral drop and pinned him – it was crushing…but in the end, here’s this great Freshman wrestler who just took second at state – that’s really very cool.

Harold getting screen time - handsome devil, isn't he?

  1. Brad says:

Harold was on statewide TV? That’s AWESOME! It’s also awesome that Ryan and Ethan got so far. We were all rooting for them.

  2. Lauren says:

Awesome! Congrats to Raymond Central, and Congrats Harold! (My, how handsome he looks!)

  3. Michele (Brad's friend) says:

Handsome Harold. So, is he already claimed as someone’s backup husband? I’ve lost track in all of your crazy talk about backup spouses. If Sean Connery falls through, can I have Harold?

  4. Beth says:

Sean Connery is MY back-up!! What are the chances of that? This could get complicated…

  5. Michele (Brad's friend) says:

Remind me to tell you about the time I tried to bribe a movie theatre employee for a life-size Sean Connery. It’s a long, sad story. I’ll save it for when you come to visit next month.

  6. Peggy says:

Hey, did you two know that Sean believes it’s ok to slap a woman around a little … when she gets out of line … I heard him say it myself on an interview … and he wasn’t talkin’ about a fun “spank me” kind of slap Michele … just thought you both should know …
