I love wrestling. For those of you who know me well, this is no surprise…but perhaps for others of you this may be news. Regardless, I love wrestling. It rivals football for my favorite sport to watch. But, let’s be clear here, I love real wrestling, not the WWF kind. I love high school and college level wrestling…really.

We went to the Nebraska-Oklahoma State Dual this evening in Lincoln. Unfortunately, I forgot my camera, but I managed to come up with a couple pitiful shots online…just to document the event.
Nebraska is ranked 20th nationally, and OSU is ranked 4th, so there was some competition, but OSU is most definitely a great team. Still, I’m loyal to the Huskers. Did I mention, I love wrestling?

I like wrestling too. How come St. Paul’s didn’t have a wrestling team? That may have been a sport I liked.
I like it because it’s so cerebral. Wrestling matches remind me of chess. I don’t know how to play chess, so I don’t really know what I’m talking about, but what I mean is that one move leads to another. You plan your strategy. Move and counter move. It is so not boring to watch.
Wrestling … I’m so torn. I like watching others & can really get into it, but watching your own off-spring is difficult. My problem is I always feel so bad for the guy losing … especially when their face is all contorted in a world of pain … I want to scream …SOMEONE HELP HIM!
But there is no help … just man against man … beast against beast … neanderthal against neanderthal … can’t we all just play nice!
(note: only the really good wrestlers wrestle cerebral)
I thought you were some sort of chess god.
(Hee hee!)
